Paying with Dogecoin
Dogecoin is an open-source cryptocurrency that runs on its own Scrypt proof-of-work blockchain, merge-mined alongside Litecoin for network security. It uses a roughly one-minute block time and very low, byte-based transaction fees, which makes it practical for small and mid-sized payments like topping up a hosting balance.
Privacy: Dogecoin is pseudonymous, not private. Every transaction, amount, and address is recorded on a public ledger anyone can inspect, so reused addresses can be linked over time. If you want on-chain privacy by default, Monero is the stronger choice; Dogecoin's benefit here is low friction, not privacy.
Best for: Anyone who wants a fast, cheap, widely supported coin for smaller top-ups and doesn't need on-chain privacy.
How it works
Top up in four steps
- 1
Choose Dogecoin at checkout
On your ChainVPS top-up page, select Dogecoin (DOGE) as the payment coin and enter the amount you want to add to your prepaid balance.
- 2
Get the payment address
ChainVPS generates a unique Dogecoin address (and often a QR code) for your top-up. Use it for this payment only and don't reuse it for later top-ups.
- 3
Send from your wallet
Open your non-custodial DOGE wallet, paste or scan the address, enter the exact amount shown, and broadcast the transaction. Leave a small buffer for the network fee so the full amount arrives.
- 4
Balance credits automatically
Once the network confirms your transaction, ChainVPS credits your account balance automatically. Your services then draw down from that prepaid balance — there's no per-invoice card charge.
Wallets

Non-custodial wallets keep your keys in your hands. ChainVPS never asks for a wallet login or seed phrase.

Questions
Paying with Dogecoin — FAQ
How long until my Dogecoin top-up is credited?
Dogecoin blocks arrive about once a minute, so top-ups are typically credited within minutes. Your balance updates automatically once the network confirms the transaction.
Is paying with Dogecoin private?
No. Dogecoin is pseudonymous: transactions are visible on a public ledger and can be linked to addresses. ChainVPS doesn't require KYC to hold a balance, but the DOGE payment itself is not private on-chain. For default on-chain privacy, consider Monero instead.
What fee will I pay to send DOGE?
Dogecoin fees are low and depend on transaction size and network load, usually only a fraction of a cent to a few cents. Send the exact top-up amount and keep a little extra in your wallet to cover the network fee.
